About Me
I’m a certified Reiki practitioner, licensed child psychologist (PSY 33636), and former kindergarten teacher. Working with children has always felt natural to me. During my five years as a kindergarten teacher, I learned just how intuitive it was for me to connect with children, to see and support them where they are.
Later, as a psychologist, I discovered Reiki while searching for ways to heal myself. I’d already tried psychotherapy, physical therapy, acupuncture, and massage — each helped in its own way, but Reiki touched something deeper. It brought a calm and gentleness that felt like it was made for someone like me: highly sensitive, attuned to others’ emotions, and deeply aware of subtle shifts in energy and mood. Reiki speaks to the parts of me that words can’t always reach — and I’ve seen how it does the same for others.
I’m especially drawn to offering Reiki to children and their mothers. It’s where I feel most aligned and most capable — and I’ve witnessed again and again how children soften, how mothers reconnect, and how the energy in the room shifts.
As an Asian woman, I also understand the quiet pressures many Asian mothers carry: the unspoken expectation to hold everything together, to be the emotional anchor for the whole family, often at the expense of their own well-being. While I welcome all parents with warmth and care, I bring a special understanding to Asian mothers. When you feel more grounded and supported, your child feels it too. Supporting you is one of the most powerful ways to support your child — and it’s an honor to hold space for both of you.
My training and background include:
– Certified in Usui Reiki Level 1 & 2
– Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.), The Wright Institute
– Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Elementary Education, Arizona State University
– Bachelor’s in Psychology (B.A.), Cornell University
– Author and illustrator of The Yet Pet, a picture book that fosters resilience in children
Whether I’m offering Reiki or simply holding space, my intention is always to help children and their mothers feel more ease, connection, and hope.
